The Story Behind ATTIMO As Told In "The Olive Feeling"
Behind every real good olive oil there's a beautiful story.
- Two cousins inherited the halves of a Cretan grove their family split generations ago. One grew up in it; the other, a history teacher in Switzerland, barely knew him. They joined the land and named the oil Efkrato — Greek for well-mixed.
- A surgeon on Corfu spent his life making olive oil he considered medicine. Sixty years later his grandson left a design career in Paris to press it the doctor's way, under the doctor's name.
- A Spanish village with a hundred thousand abandoned olive trees let city people adopt them — name one, get its oil each year, come visit. Enough did that the village school never closed.
- A man in Turkey's Aydın mountains taught his family to press olives the old way. His name was Veysel. It's his grandson's brand now, but the name on the bottle is still his.
- A Czech student and a Spanish builder met in Madrid. When the construction crisis took his job, they bought a piece of an Andalusian grove and started delivering oil to Prague farmers' markets in her red Škoda Fabia. The brand is their marriage: Lozano Červenka.

Attimo's story is best told along the arc of my life. My best childhood memories are of summers in Tuscan farmhouses where people know that good things take time and life is best lived slowly. Then came my twenties, the city and a career in tech, where everything always moves faster. I was checking boxes, but with the years came an increasing feeling of exhaustion, and a yearning for something important forgotten. I started to wonder how I wanted to grow old and remembered my childhood summers. Attimo is my way back to a slower, simpler, richer, realer way of life. A way of life that feels like home.
